Solution Architect - Secureworks
Global Solutions Architecture

Secureworks is a global leader in providing intelligence-driven information security solutions. We play an important role, as no organization in the world is immune from cyberattacks and the nature of the attack is changing every day. Internet security is a problem that will never be solved. Unlike point products that address a specific technology issue, we attack the problem holistically by analyzing threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures, and develop solutions using best-of-breed technologies to protect our clients. We are one of the best in the world at understanding the threat.

In short, we give our clients an early warning capability. Secureworks was founded in 1999 and headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., with offices in all the major security markets around the globe. We have more than 2,000 team members, and partner with more than 4,200 clients in 59 countries to keep the bad guys out of their networks. We've been consistently recognized by industry analysts, readers' polls and as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for managed security services, worldwide.

Role Overview
The Solution Architect ("SA") supports Sales and Sales Engineering teams at Secureworks, acting as subject matter experts in building complex solutions. Secureworks' salespeople and sales engineers ("SE") work to understand a clients goals, then help clients achieve those goals by matching them with our products and services.

When a sales/SE team needs help developing a technical solution for a client, especially with large or complex requests, SAs step in to assist. This might be through educating the team on a particular SecureWorks product or industry framework, scoping the engagement in client-facing meetings and phone calls, or working with Secureworks consultants and engineers to develop custom changes to our service. While an SA might do one or more of those items in developing a solution, an SA will always create the cost modeling, proper scoping, and contracts (i.e., statements of work and service agreement changes).

Fantastic communication and technical/contractual writing skills are needed. You should have a reputation for being enjoyable to work with, being confidence-inspiring in calls/meetings with your peers and customers, and for being exceptionally reliable in getting things done well and on time. Successful SAs have a competitive spirit, wanting to help salespeople win deals by building solutions that are exactly what our clients need to solve their problems. Because many of our deals involve security consulting services, a strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.) is valuable to help inspire confidence in, and sometimes even educate, our salespeople, SEs, and clients.
